WLAN configuration

Connecting to KIT and eduroam

The following shows how to connect to KIT. To connect to eduroam simply replace all occurrences of KIT with eduroam.

You might need to remove the wifi network if the authentications fails, and add it again.

Click on the WLAN icon in the bottom right corner in the task bar. A list of available networks will be displayed [figure 1].​

Choose KIT, click on "Connect" and log in with your KIT user name and password (e.g. ab1234Dpg3∂kit edu or uxxxxMsr8∂kit edu) [figure 2] .

To ensure a secure connection check the certificate of the authentication server. ​In the Windows Security Alert [figure 3] click on details and ensure the Radius Server is "radius-wlan.scc.kit.edu" and the root certificate is "T-TeleSec GlobalRoot Class2". If it is, click on connect.

Deleting an existing network

  1. Click on the WLAN icon, then "Open Network and Sharing Center" [Figure 8].

  2. In the newly-opened window click on "Manage Wireless Networks" [Figure 9].

  3. Click on the Wifi network you intent to remove, then right-click on it and select "remove network" [Figure 10].
