NAS103: MSC/NASTRAN Nonlinear Analysis

Spring Element with Nonlinear Analysis Parameters (large displacements on): Demonstrate the effects of geometric nonlinear analysis and how to interpret the results.

Spring Element with Nonlinear Analysis Parameters (Multi-Step Analysis): Demonstrate the effects of geometric nonlinear analysis with incremental loads through multiple subcases and interpret the results with different output options.

Spring Element with Nonlinear Analysis Parameters (Restart a Multi-Step Analysis): Use the Restart feature on the previous exercise to introduce an intermediate load case and use data obtained from the first part of previous analysis.

Spring Element with Nonlinear Analysis Parameters (filter using restart): Use another feature of Restart to introduce multi step analysis by keeping only the first part of the analysis as a separate result file.

Load Deflection of a 3-Rod Structure: Perform nonlinear analysis with the use of arc length increments, create an animation of the deformation of the structure and create an XY Plot of the load factor vs. displacement.

Linear Buckling Load Analysis (without spring): Demonstrate the use of linear buckling analysis.

Linear Buckling Load Analysis (with spring): Demonstrate the use of nonlinear static analysis restarted with buckling parameters.

Nonlinear Creep Analysis: Demonstrate the use of creep material properties, examine the strain for each subcase and create an XY Plot of Load vs. Displacement for all the subcases.

Elasto-Plastic Deformation of a Truss Structure: Demonstrate the use of elasto-plastic material properties, create an enforced displacement on the model and an XY plot of Stress vs. Percent Load of three elements.

NAS120: Linear Static and Normal Nodes Analysis Using MSC/NASTRAN and MSC/PATRAN

Linear Static Analysis of a Simply-Supported Truss: Create a finite element truss with segments in tension or compression connected by smooth pins.
