Modeling with COMSOL Multiphysics® for the KIT

Mittwoch, 14. Januar 2026, 9:00
online

This training course covers the entire process of finite element analysis with COMSOL Multiphysics® software, from the initial problem definition to geometry creation and model setup to the evaluation and documentation of results. You will learn basic modeling techniques, including the use of predefined physical interfaces, basic meshing strategies, and effective methods for visualizing and interpreting simulation results. In the afternoon of day two, we will give you a brief introduction to the Chemical Reaction Engineering Module.

A practical case study guides you through all the steps so that you can follow the typical workflow with the software step by step. In addition, you will learn how to simplify models in a way that optimizes computation times without losing accuracy.

Topics:

Modeling with COMSOL

Day 1: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • FE analysis workflow with COMSOL Multiphysics®: From problem definition to evaluation of simulation results
  • Basics of geometry creation in COMSOL Multiphysics® and import of CAD files
  • Model setup & basic modeling steps
  • Use of predefined interfaces
  • Basic meshing techniques
  • Visualization, evaluation, and documentation of results
