The aim of the two-day rough planning workshop with the consultants from HIS eG was to gain a sound insight into the central functions and possible uses of the HISinONE-EXA module in the context of management processes for studying and teaching and to consider perspectives for a possible introduction or replacement of existing systems.
The focus was particularly on the areas of examination management and event and room management. Using concrete examples, the consultants illustrated how these processes can be mapped and efficiently designed within EXA. In addition, the participants were given a basic overview of the structure of degree programs in HISinONE and the options for creating and maintaining module handbooks.
The workshop also provided space for strategic considerations: Various approaches to introducing the software were discussed together and evaluated in terms of their advantages and disadvantages. This enabled a differentiated view of organizational and technical challenges as well as the potential opportunities of a system introduction.
Representatives from the faculties, Student Services, Teaching Room Allocation and the Computer Center (Department Campus and Cloud Applications department) took part in the event. The cross-departmental exchange played a key role in bringing together different requirements and perspectives and developing a common understanding of the next steps. Another rough planning workshop on the HIS PSV module is planned next. This is a component of the campus management software HISinOne, which is specially designed for the administration of personal, structural and room data.
