WLAN guest account

The WLAN guest account self-service enables the IT representative to create temporary WLAN accounts for guests at KIT. These accounts are valid for a maximum of two months and allow guests to get internet access in WLAN and LTA.

WLAN accounts for guests can be set up by the IT representative who is registered at SCC. Additional persons can be authorized for creating WLAN guest account via the membership in the group <OE>-WLAN-Gast-Admin. With a guest account you can connect to the KIT WLAN (SSID KIT) and get internet access.

It is possible to set up WLAN guest accounts with a maximum validity of two months. For long term guests and partners please set up a guest and partner account. This can also be used in WLAN.

When using a WLAN guest account, you have to follow the IuK order. When issuing a WLAN guest account, it is necessary to refer to the IuK order. If there are several guests, an account must be created for each guest. It is not permitted to use an account for more than one person. The assignment of the account to the guest must be stored for up to seven days after the account expires. The guest is responsible for the proper handling of this account according to the IuK regulations. If no person can be assigned to an account, the person who created the account is responsible.

Note: Self-Service is currently unavailable. Please contact the service desk.
