Planning, coordination and purchasing (SW, HW)
The IT hardware and software procurements of all institutions of KIT Campus South starting from an investment sum of 5000 € are subject to the expert opinion duty of the SCC according to the State University Law of Baden-Württemberg. Within the scope of this obligation to provide an expert opinion, the SCC offers comprehensive, competent advice on the planning and procurement of IT hardware and software, irrespective of the planned investment volume. The SCC has an up-to-date overview of the projects within KIT and can therefore coordinate measures and bundle procurements and thus contribute to cost reduction in terms of efficiency and economy. Among other things, this also applies in particular to the conclusion of license agreements with software manufacturers and other contractual partners, as well as to the procurement of standard equipment such as workstation computers, peripherals, mobile devices, accessories, and consumables.
The consulting includes planning, conception, if necessary application and procurement of IT equipment and software. Frequently, the SCC also takes over the complete financial processing of major projects in the IT environment.
