Offers for university students

There are various opportunities for teacher training students to engage in mathematical modelling of real-world problems. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please send us an email.

Doctorate in mathematics education

Teacher training students who are interested in conducting more intensive research in the field of mathematical modelling education after completing their studies have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate. If you are interested, please contact us by email.

Bachelor's and Master's theses

We are currently offering a Master's thesis in the field of data science and AI. The aim of the Master's thesis is to design and test a workshop on the topic of ‘AI and media’. The thesis will be assigned and supervised in cooperation with the non-profit project ‘KI macht Schule’ (AI goes to school). A detailed description of the task can be found here.

In addition to the explicitly advertised topic, there is the possibility that topics from the following areas may be assigned at short notice

  • Mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence
  • Data science in mathematics education
  • Weather forecasting
  • Augmented reality
  • Renewable energies or
  • Climate change

The final theses can generally be completed with one of the following two focuses:

Methodological-didactic focus: (Further) development and testing of digital teaching and learning materials for mathematical modelling

Mathematical-technical focus: Modelling of a real-world problem including a didactic outlook.

If you are interested, please send us an email. An overview of theses completed to date within the framework of CAMMP can be found here

Become a student assistant at CAMMP!

The CAMMP team is always happy to welcome committed students who want to get involved in the (further) development and implementation of workshops on mathematical modelling for school pupils. Working at CAMMP offers the opportunity to gain insight into the authentic, innovative implementation of modelling projects with school pupils and to gain practical teaching experience.

For students of mathematics/natural sciences

For students of mathematics and computer science or SEE subjects (natural sciences, engineering, economics), we offer a computer-aided mathematical modelling week.

For more information, see: MathSEE Modelling Week
