Dear readers,
we look back at projects that require patience, continuity, and a steady hand over many years. The quality of our IT services and research
results benefits greatly from such sustained efforts. On page 4, you can read how email security at KIT has been continuously improved over the years. The same applies to software development and maintenance. We also report on how the RegApp software platform has grown in functionality and stability over the past 13 years (p. 20). Autonomous driving is one of the long-term research topics involving collaboration across many disciplines. SCC is developing statistical methods and algorithms for this purpose to enable safe and efficient driverless driving (p. 27). Finally, our report on the sale of legacy hardware shows why patience and persistence were essential there as well (p. 52).
