Relocation of the Magnetic Tape Library for CERN Data
SCC has relocated and expanded the central magnetic tape library of the Tier-1 data center GridKa to a new location. The facility now offers a storage capacity of approximately 300 petabytes and is currently one of the largest tape storage systems in Europe. The magnetic tape library is a core component of the SCC’s storage infrastructure for data from experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (CERN) and plays a crucial role in the long-term archiving and backup of research data.
