Prof. Dr. Luca Ghiringhelli, head of the Computational and Data Science in Materials Research (CDSMR) research group at the SCC, was a member of a working group on "Advanced Materials" as part of the European Commission's Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM). His expertise in Computational Materials Science and Data Science for materials research was incorporated into a recently published report to support the EU in the preparation of an "Advanced Materials Act".
