About Maple
Maple is a highly comprehensive Computer Algebra System (CAS) successfully utilized across both academic teaching and advanced scientific research. It provides a complete, integrated environment for solving complex mathematical problems using both symbolic and numerical methods. Beyond computation, Maple features powerful tools for high-quality graphical visualization, results animation, and advanced word processing, making it an excellent standalone tool for authoring mathematical texts.
Key Capabilities and Export Formats
- Flexible Document Sharing: Maple Worksheets can be seamlessly exported into standard LaTeX or HTML formats and are optimized for easy sharing across the web.
- Code Generation: Symbolic expressions can be directly converted into Fortran, C, Java, or Visual Basic source code, enabling automated program generation for external applications.
Core Feature Set
- Symbolic Algorithms: Formula manipulation, expression comparison, symbolic differentiation, symbolic integration, and exact solutions for equations and systems of equations.
- Numerical Algorithms: Operations across varied number representations, arbitrary-precision arithmetic, and numerical solvers for complex equations, systems, and differential equations.
- Graphics & Visualization: Advanced 2D/3D plotting and integrated data animations.
- Interoperability & Interfaces: Direct export/import links to LaTeX and HTML, automated code generation for major programming languages, and robust data exchange with MATLAB.
Maple includes its own native, high-level programming language, allowing users to implement custom algorithms and specialized mathematical procedures. For targeted research areas, extensive packages of specialized Maple functions are available. Furthermore, users can access the online Maple Application Center to download a vast repository of community tools, tutorials, and real-world application examples.
