HIRO Kick-off Meeting

On February 25 and 26, members of the CSMM research group traveled to Aachen for the kick-off meeting of the HIRO project, which started in February of this year. HIRO stands for Hierarchical Reconstruction Methods in Optical Imaging.

The HIRO Project Team at the Kick-off Meeting in Aachen

On February 25th and 26th, Sidney Hansen, Emil Løvbak and Martin Frank of the CSMM research group traveled to Aachen for the kick-off meeting of the HIRO project that started this February.

HIRO (short for Hierarchical Reconstruction Methods in Optical Imaging) is an inter university collaboration between KIT, the University of Mannheim, RWTH Aachen, and the University Clinic in Aachen, together with industrial partners BAM, Gremse IT and MILabs funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. The goal is to tackle inverse problems for reconstructing images in fluorescence and bioluminescence tomography. This interdisciplinary collaboration combines aspects of data acquisition, optimization, model reduction and uncertainty quantification to improve the construction of images based on measured data.

We are excited about the fruitful collaborations ahead and look forward to presenting future results.
